Two of the U.S. government’s largest R&D grant programs targeted at small business technological innovation are among the topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Charles Eason, Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) Specialist for Tech Futures Group, a specialty program of the Northern California SBDC. Eason will provide details on both the SBIR and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs, qualifications and eligibility requirements for funding, and insights on submitting a successful application for the competitive process.
A successful entrepreneur, Eason is a past National Science Foundation STTR program award winner with his company OPTEMA Development Corporation. His background includes work as the Statewide Director for Business & Entrepreneurship for the California Community Colleges Economic and Workforce Development Program where he coordinated small business programs throughout 116 community colleges. Eason has worked with SBIR/STTR clients for 27 years.
Kelly Bearden will begin the webinar with a look at available capital resources, economics, and small business recovery opportunities.
