Elements on how Kern County’s economic development priorities can help local businesses, and details on a 12-month business bootcamp for minority and low-income entrepreneurs are among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Jim Damian, Kern County’s Chief Economic Development Officer. Damian will discuss near-term economic development projects, and how the county’s economic development priorities can help local businesses increase revenue and profits.
Bearden will also be joined by Ali Morris, co-owner of WEM Enterprises, a business assistance firm that offers business startup assistance, financial forecasting, and strategic advisory services. Morris will provide details on the Kern Inclusive Membership Hub, a program of the Regional Disenfranchised Business Development Project (RDBDP).
The webinar will begin with information on available capital resources programs, an update on the Bakersfield Entrepreneurship Grant Program, and weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local, state, and federal governments.
Questions from attendees will be taken.
