Two of the U.S. government’s largest R&D grant programs with $4 billion available and targeted toward small business technological innovation are among the topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.

Host and SBDC director Kelly Bearden will be joined by Charles Eason, Small Business Innovation and Research (SBIR) advisor with the SBDC. Eason will provide details on the SBIR and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer) programs, qualifications and eligibility requirements for funding, and insights on how to prepare and submit a proposal for the competitive process.

Eason has provided counseling and training to SBIR/STTR clients for 29 years. An entrepreneur, he has direct experience with the SBIR/STTR programs through his company, OPTEMA Development Corporation, and is a past National Science Foundation Phase I, Phase II, and Phase IICC STTR awardee.

Bearden will begin the webinar with a look at the economy, available capital resources programs, and more.

Questions from attendees will be taken.
