Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will kick off the hourlong webinar with updates on the final round of the California Relief Grant program, PPP loan forgiveness, the countdown to the end of the Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program [EIDL], supplemental and targeted EIDL, and more.

Bearden will then be joined by Ken Takeda, Regional Outreach Officer for the Western Regional Office of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in San Jose, who will provide a brief overview of the four major types of intellectual property (IP) and why innovators and entrepreneurs should consider protecting them.

Takeda manages education programs for inventors, entrepreneurs, startups, intellectual property practitioners, K-12 STEM education students and teachers, and numerous other programs within the western region. He will also discuss these programs and the unique changes due to COVID-19.

Questions from attendees will be taken.

This marks the 79th in the weekly “Webinar Wednesday” series that provides reopening and current pandemic relief updates on available federal, state, and local funding options, tax credit programs, employee programs, and other opportunities helpful to employers and business owners.
